Wavesfactory has released Newmello II, the second volume for the Newmello Collection for Kontakt 4 and 5. This is what they have to say...

Inspired by the Mellotron M400, Newmello brings back the sound that shaped the 60s and 70s adding new sounds and functionalities that makes it go beyond the original unit.

The Mellotron is an electro-mechanical, polyphonic tape replay keyboard developed in 1963. It works by pulling a section of magnetic tape across a head and it's considered the first sampler. Used by The Beatles, King Crimson, Rolling Stones and many more.

The original Mellotron M400 had no round robin and just 1 velocity layer, and the samples only played for about 8 seconds. We have recreated this behaviour but with optional 3x random round robin, dynamic range control and looping.

In extension to the M400 we also added a +/- octaver, noise control with two modes, mixable tapes, tone control (tilt EQ), 25 instrument samples and a brand new script called "Rack Effects" to add up to 12 audio effects which expands exponentially the sound design capabilities of the library.
