Today is the day that Novation formally announce their new Circuit hardware.

So what exactly is Circuit? You may have not guessed it from the artist focussed teaser videos, but its a standalone 6 track groovebox - with twin, 6 voice Mini Nova derived synth engines, 4 sample based drum tracks, effects engine and multi-channel sequencer engine.

Designed to encourage computer free music creation, and "happy accidents",  the enthusiasm from within the company is clear, and the price seems pretty reasonable - £249/ $329 - available in stores in the next couple of weeks.

We attended the launch and spent a little quality time with product manager Olly, who took us through the key features. One thing was impressive was the uninterrupted workflow.
