The Abstract Data ADE-32 Octocontroller is an 8 output 12 function digital control module that can provide multiple, synced - trigger, rhythm, modulation and control signals.
There are 12 different output types including Gates, LFOs and S&H. Each output type also has an 'option' giving a total of over 40 potential output types. Any of the modulation types can be assigned to any of the 8 outputs in any order.
In this series of videos we will be using the Octocontroller at the centre of all the patches. All the clocking and pitch information will be coming straight from the Octocontroller and will be completely driving the whole patch.
The focus of this first video was to create some beats and utilise the external reset input of the Octocontroller to create fills by resetting at a random point in time.
All patterns are generated from the Octocontroller using a small modular setup.
Abstract Data Octocontroller is available at many good modular stockists priced at £299 - as with many smaller manufacturers, stocks are limited so you may have to pre-order.
