If you haven't watched our video with Colin Benders about the philosophy of Studio Stekker then I would suggest watching that before you watch this.

Colin Benders is someone you may not have heard of outside of the Netherlands. Under his project the Kyteman Orchestra he has had great success. His first album "The Hermit Sessions" sold over 75,000 copies and won all the major music prizes in the Netherlands.

But for his week at Studio Stekker I found him holed up in one of the make shift studios of Kytopia, working tirelessly on his modular set for the Modulation event on the last day of Studio Stekker.

After having his modular for over 5 years, it was time for him to make some music on this beast of an instrument that he knew could do crazy things.

For this piece the modular was setup to create four distinct synth voices. The melodic structure of the piece was provided by the ER101 sequencer.

Colin's focus for this performance was on the melodic elements, the drums and rhythms were just there to give the piece that extra little nudge.
