Softube has dropped the requirement for a USB iLok key for all its products, making a USB iLok key optional. All Softube plug-ins can now be used with iLok's machine-based licenses. This license type authorizes the computer itself, making the USB iLok key optional. Each license will contain two separate authorizations, meaning that the user can either authorize one computer and keep one authorization as backup, authorize two different computers or authorize one computer and one USB iLok key. If wanted, users can still use a USB hardware iLok for easy portability of their licenses.
Softube has also announced that their Summer Sale 2015 is on, with up to 40% discount on a number of their products. A spokesperson said, "Please visit the More Is More Webstore to see all the discounted prices--and keep in mind that our authorized dealers always have even lower prices. We discounted the prices on our Reason Rack Extension plug-ins by the same percentages as our native ones, so Reason users can head over to the Propellerheads Shop."
The previously announced free upgrade to the Console 1 system has now been released. The update includes an EQ analyzer and new screen views. Softube had this to say about it:
One of the most requested new features for Console 1 since its release in February 2014 is to have an FFT frequency analyzer as part of the EQ section. So now we have included that. The graphical curve shows left and right channels simultaneously and can be switched from showing the frequency curve on input (pre EQ) or output (post EQ).
Furthermore, two new view options have beed added. These allow the user to set Console 1's On-Screen Display in a minimal mode where only the meter bridge is shown, and in a super-minimal mode which also shows the meter bridge only, but even slimmer.
The Console 1 software with the new features is included in Softube's plug-in installer, which can be downloaded from the Download page.
Cubase 8.02 users: Please note that there are compatibility issues with the Console 1 software. A new build with a fix for the issues will be released shortly.
