Two high end compressor models for the Universal Audio UAD2 DSP platform come under scrutiny from our resident  expert Tosh. The Manley Variable Mu Limiter Compressor - Manley Labs' flagship compressor since 1994 - with tube and transformer driven technology, lovingly modelled by the UAD boffins.

And the Brainworx Vertigo Sound VSC-2 Compressor - a model of the German quad discrete hardware, dubbed the "Mercedes of VCA compressors". This one is also available from Brainworx as a non UAD2 plug-in.

Both offer subtle and transparent compression, each with its own character. Tosh guides us through what both can do to a variety of program materials.

Manley Variable Mu - $299

Brainworx Vertigo Sound VSC-2 $299

Both available now via the UAD store.

Thanks Tosh from Wij Productions
