Gibson Gets Woody

Gibson says that the new Les Paul All Wood celebrates its organic beauty like no Les Paul you've ever seen. They tell us that, while the non-wood components of any great Les Paul are kept to a minimum, and purely decorative, The Les Paul All Wood takes this thinking to the extreme, crafting every component that's conceivably possible from luscious, resonant, hand-selected tonewood. They say that the result is a guitar that not only looks extremely special, with a a high-gloss Antique Natural finish in genuine nitrocellulose lacquer, but one that rings and resonates like no other. Here's the details in Gibson's own words...

In addition to a top carved from highly figured Grade-AAA maple, The Les Paul All Wood presents a matching Grade-AAA maple back, between which lies a mahogany core with traditional nine-hole weight relief for superb comfort and resonance. The Grade-AAA maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard that's also bound in maple, with maple block inlays and a highly figured maple headstock facing engraved with "Gibson" and "Les Paul Model". Taking it all a step further, the guitar's truss-rod cover, control back plates, and pickup rings are all made from luscious rosewood too, while the control knobs are chrome with abalone inserts. But The Les Paul All Wood is about more than just the looks: a pair of Gibson's popular '57 Classic pickups follow in the footsteps of the hallowed PAF humbuckers of the late '50s to give you warm, purring neck tones, raw, raunchy bridge settings, and endless voices in between. Protected in a Historic Brown Gibson hardshell case, The Les Paul All Wood offers long-lasting beauty from every dimension.
