SonicXTC says that Step PhilterX is a dual filterbank unit that provides amazing fexibility and creativity in a small blueprint, with an added classic analog delay to take things over the top.

A spokesperson had this to say, "Filter units are extremely difficult to get the signals they are processing to sit properly in a mix!  They tend to force the processed signal further back in the mix. If a producer compensates by turning up the volume of the processed signal, the resulting sound quality often sounds washed up and unclear.  Step PhilterX deals with this problem by providing multiple filter types split across two channels to give producers more options to help the filtered process signal sit properly in the mix. Quality filters are the backbone of many classic effects and sounds. Having a quality filterbank module that can be easily controlled is priceless. Whether you need to add spice to a drum loop or synth fx for techno, Step PhilterX has you covered. It also makes for a killer effect on guitar tracks."
