Dinosaur Jr guitarist J Mascis is the latest high profile musician to have his gear stolen, in a year which has seen stolen guitars make the headlines almost every week.

Mascis revealed on Facebook that his Squier Jazzmaster had gone missing at a gig in Oregon, USA. He is asking for any witnesses or anybody who has any information about the theft to come forward.

The guitar is described as a white Squier Jazzmaster, with a dent on the neck, and no adjustment screws on the pickups. The Dinosaur Jr guitarist also mentioned that the action is currently set high on the guitar and was in a soft gig bag.

Anybody who has any information should email band@dinosaurjr.com, or call 303-998-0001

The band are currently touring in support of their new album, I Bet On The Sky.

Other high profile musicians such as Tom Petty have had their guitars stolen this year, while Chuck Berry and Sonic youth have both seen long lost guitars returned to them out of the blue in recent months.
