Mumford and Sons Topple Green Day in UK Charts

In what has been a great week for guitar music, Mumford and Sons have taken the number one spot in the UK Album Chart with their new album Babel, surpassing Green Day, who came in at number two with Uno.

Mumford and Sons not only took the No1 slot, but they also managed to claim the title of 'fastest selling album of the year', good news for the band who exploded onto the scene with their first album Sign No More.

The UK top ten album chart makes promising reading for guitarists, with The Killers, Mumford and Sons and Green Day all in the top five.

The singles chart does not make quite as good reading though, with Taylor Swift being the only artist in the top five to have a guitar feature on her track.
