Paul Reed Smith has thanked fans and customers of PRS for the part they played in the recent Experience PRS 2012 show in Maryland. Experience PRS is an annual party for fans of the brand featuring live music from PRS artists and seminars on a range of different subjects.

Paul Reed Smith said in an open letter on the company's website that he was "starting to be able to function again" after the adrenaline of the event.

PRS used the event to announce a number of new products, including their first production model 7-string guitars, and a limited run of Custom 24 and P22 guitars.

His statement reads:

To everyone who attended Experience PRS 2012,

I had so much adrenaline in me from the three-day event that just today (Thursday) I am starting to be able to function again. When you bring that many good people together…from our fans, customer base, dealers, distributors, media, dedicated employees, and scary good musicians...you can kinda imagine what’s going to happen, but I had no idea it would be that much fun and that good. The acoustic demos and amplifier seminars were very well attended, as were the clinic stage sit-in sessions. I personally witnessed many attendees recording tracks upstairs in the recording area that sounded great, and so many people told us when they were picking up their $100 that they “bought an ice cream cone!” To everyone for bringing their magic to the event, thank you.

On a side note, I’ve been communicating with Brent Mason, Neal Schon, Ricky Skaggs, John McLaughlin, Tony McManus, and several other artists about their experiences at the event. There has been a universal “best one ever” and a deep appreciation for the “great vibe” and how much skill level combined with heart they experienced. The music started with Simon McBride, David Grissom, and Mark Tremonti on Thursday, moved to Tony McManus and John McLaughlin’s band on Friday, and ended Saturday with Cody Kilby and Mother’s Finest…I didn’t think it was possible to match Friday night’s power when Saturday night started, but everyone brought it – it was great!

So once again, everyone, thank you. It’s the combination of everybody that makes this event so cool.

Sincerely,

Paul
