At Summer NAMM 2012 in Nashville, TC-Helicon is launching VoiceTone Mic Mechanic, which they describe as a no-frills, compact effects pedal for singers who "just want to sound great". Here's all the details in their own words...
Dead room? Flat mic? No sound guy? Call in Mic Mechanic - a complete vocal toolbox in a compact, easy-to-use pedal.
Less Is More
Featuring a set of 8 classic Reverb and Delay combinations, Mic Mechanic is the direct response to the singers who say "I don't want to change my voice. I just want to sound great". As such it is the perfect solution for lead and backup vocalists, or anyone else looking to easily enhance and complement the natural sound of their voice, without colouring or modulating it.
Mic Mechanic acts as a personal sound engineer, providing time-tested tone and effects that singers can take anywhere – and always sound their best.
Professional Reverb, Simply Controlled
All vocalists appreciate the benefits that reverb brings to a performance, and with Mic Mechanic singers get professional reverb effects ported straight from TC Helicon's renowned VoiceLive series, used by superstars like George Michael, Kimbra and Timbaland on stages and in studios everywhere.
Delay. Delay. And Tap.
Mic Mechanic goes from from a simple slapback delay to near-infinite echo effects at the turn of a dial. Also featured on Mic Mechanic is a tap tempo feature allowing singers to set delay times manually to match their music.
Perfectly Pitched
Auto Chromatic Pitch Correction gently guides singers towards the 'true' note being sung. When just a bit flat or sharp, Mic Mechanic steps in and gives them a little – or a large – nudge in the right direction. It can be transparent or used as an effect, whichever is preferred.
A Touch of Magic with Adaptive Tone
Mic Mechanic automatically adjusts EQ, Compression, De-Essing and Gating – providing singers with great tone all the time regardless of the sound system or sound tech.
Mic Control
Mic Mechanic can be controlled from anywhere on the stage with TC-Helicon's MP-75 Modern Performance Vocal Microphone (optional).
