Our first visit to the Gadget Show Live yesterday - its a massive show at Birmingham's NEC using 3 halls - would love to see a music show in the UK of this size. With it being more mainstream technology, there were a number of celebs endorsing products. The Dube however, is a little different, in that it was actually invented and built by former Premiership Footballer Dion Dublin who invented it while playing for Norwich City (after training he adds).
Dion was kind enough to give us a show and tell of this all-wood cube with an internal mic - apparently its a Shure kick drum mic. The Dube can be played acoustically too -with four faces, each with its own pitch and timbre, kind of like wooden congas or bongos and actually sounds pretty decent.
Great idea, and easy to use.
