Gibson Introduces A Baritone Explorer

Gibson has introduced the Explorer Baritone guitar which they say offers "A hot and heavy journey to the lower dimensions of electric guitar tone." Here's the rest of what Gibson has to say...
The Explorer Baritone wraps all the iconic Explorer style, construction and attitude into a guitar with a 28" scale length that's perfect for the lower tunings that are popular in rock, thrash and metal today. Whether you play C#-F#-B-E-G#-C#, B-E-A-D-F#-B or your own variation of baritone tuning, the Explorer Baritone has the girth and the gusto to rip out the low-slung riffs in grand style, with premium tonewoods and a pair of high-gain humbucking pickups to ram it all through your amp of choice. And it looks great, too, in a stunning high-gloss Silverburst finish, in genuine nitrocellulose lacquer, of course.
Like several classic Gibson guitars, the Explorer Baritone has a body crafted from solid mahogany in the classic "pointy" Explorer shape. It has a glued-in neck made from superior quarter-sawn maple for improved strength and resonance, and a Preciosa fingerboard with 24 medium-jumbo frets. The neck is carved to a fast yet comfortable Explorer profile and measures .800" deep at the 1st fret and .850" at the 12th, with a width of 1.70" across its PLEK-cut Corian nut. A mother-of-pearl Gibson logo graces the iconic "droopy" Explorer headstock, while classic four-ply white Explorer pickguard and elegant mother-of-pearl dot fingerboard inlays round out the cosmetic appointments.
A major part of the Explorer Baritone's firepower naturally comes from its pickups, two of Gibson USA's finest contemporary humbuckers. The 496R in the neck position is made with a ceramic magnet for creamy smooth tones with outstanding sustain, and impressive clarity. The 500T in the bridge position--Gibson's second hottest pickup--also uses a ceramic magnet, along with over-wound coils for serious crunch and snarl from the bridge position and unparalleled wailing lead tones. To keep it all rock-solid for superb sustain and resonance, the Explorer Baritone carries Gibson's legendary Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, famous for more than five decades for their sustain-enhancing solidity and superb adjustability. Up top, Grover kidney button tuners ensure tight, precise tuning. Wrap it all up, and it just might be the world's most toneful way to get your low-down riffs on.
Every Explorer Baritone comes protected in a Gibson hardshell case, and is covered by Gibson's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Support. Features
