Korg USA is offering a $500.00 mail-in rebate on both the 73-key and 88-key models of their SV-1 (Stage Vintage) Piano. The mail-in rebate period runs from November 1, 2011, through January 15, 2012, and applies to new Korg SV-1s purchased by US residents from an authorized Korg dealer in the USA. Full details and a downloadable rebate coupon can be found at www.korg.com/promo .
Here's Korg's description of the SV-1:
With piano as its primary focus, the SV-1 is available with either 73 or 88 piano-style keys, using Korg's top-of-the-line RH3 Graded Hammer Action. The SV-1 also features the sound of a Japanese grand piano in addition to the traditional grand piano of German manufacture. Beyond piano, the SV-1 contains highly authentic electric pianos sounds; transistor, tube, and tonewheel organ sounds; plus a variety of equally authentic vintage keyboard sounds that remain popular in today's music. In total, the SV-1 contains 36 sounds, with additional Sound Packs available for download.
In addition, the SV-1 features five powerful onboard effects sections to provide the same authentic vintage feel as the sounds themselves. Chief among these is the amplifier modeling section, which employs a vacuum tube to recreate both the amplifiers and speaker cabinets used in conjunction with the original instruments. The SV-1 carries the Stage Vintage theme in its look and feel, as well as its sound. The front panel features only single-function knobs, a power switch, and eight car radio-style "Favorites" buttons.
Focused on creating a realistic piano performance in a live environment, the SV-1 features stereo balanced XLR outputs for direct connection to a sound system, traditional quarter-inch outputs for a stage amplifier, and connections for a damper pedal, an assignable pedal (commonly used for expression or wah), and an assignable footswitch (commonly used to control rotary speaker simulation speed). An optional matching stand and rolling soft case are available.
