Les Paul To Be Honoured With Monument

Legendary guitarist and inventor, Les Paul, is to be honoured with a new granite memorial at his gravesite in Wisconsin.

His family and friends are hosting a public dedication ceremony on 10.30am, Saturday at his grave at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.

Les Paul was heralded as 'The Wizard of Waukesha' in his early career, not only for hi incredible talent as a guitarist, but also his pioneering work on the electric guitar, tape delay, multi-tracking, and his signature 'octave-up' sound which was created by speeding up tape recordings.

The Les Paul Estate commissioned Rock of Ages of Vermont to design, build and install the 500-foot-square granite monument.

Paul died in 2009 at age 94.
