Roland has introduced the BA-55 Portable PA System, a compact, lightweight, and efficient battery-powered amp that's designed for any small function requiring sound amplification. Paired with its included wireless microphone, Roland tell us that the BA-55 is perfect not only for musical performances, but also for school presentations, meetings, special events, houses of worship, and other events. Here's the rest of what they have to say about it...
The BA-55 has a three-channel configuration, with one channel featuring an integrated 2.4 GHz wireless receiver for use with the included wireless microphone. The second channel can accept a second Roland wireless microphone or a standard wired microphone, while the third channel has RCA, 1/4-inch, and 1/8-inch stereo inputs for audio, instrument or other line input use. The BA-55 offers global tone controls for quick sound adjustments and an echo effect that can be switched from the wireless microphone.
Powered by a high-performance digital stereo amplifier, the BA-55 features two custom-designed 6.5-inch speakers. These speakers use an internal accelerometer switch to determine the orientation and sound output. When the amp is positioned upright (with the two speakers in a vertical configuration), sound is output in mono to maximize the distance of sound projection, when the amp is positioned on its side (with the speakers in a horizontal configuration), sound is output in stereo to enhance musical performances.
The BA-55 features an Intelligent Anti-Feedback function that automatically detects potential feedback problems, eliminating them before annoying howling sounds are produced. This is a huge advantage over manually adjusting volume levels, as it allows performers and speakers to place the BA-55 behind them and easily hear themselves without experiencing feedback.
Also onboard the BA-55 is a line output for connecting to a larger amplification system, allowing a user to employ the amplifier as a personal monitor. This output can alternately be used to connect to a recording device, which is great for capturing musical performances or public speaking. Additional features include a handy auto power off function and a convenient built-in storage space for the wireless microphone and other accessories.
To suit both professional and celebratory settings, the BA-55 Portable PA System will be available in both white and black.
