Roland has introduced the new line of V-Tour® Series V-Drums®, the TD-9KX2 and TD-9K2. These kits feature the playability and sound quality of Roland's industry-leading V-Drums, plus an assortment of practice and recording features that are perfect for any musical situation. Here's what Roland has to say...
Both the TD-9KX2 and TD-9K2 include an updated TD-9 Percussion Sound Module, which includes over 30 new expressive sounds and adds dozens of great-sounding new kits to the original TD-9 factory kits. With 99 kits now available, any musical style can easily be covered. The update also adds the ability to play MP3 files via USB flash media. By adding MP3 playback to existing WAV compatibility and 50 internal real audio songs, the TD-9 now provides even more creative performance and practice options to drummers.
With the TD-9 Percussion Sound Module, sounds can be edited using a user-friendly graphical interface. Ambience effects and EQ can be added to quickly create custom kits, which are automatically stored to internal memory. Drummers can conveniently archive a library of custom kits and settings from the TD-9 via USB flash media. For practice, the TD-9 features the unique Scope function, providing realtime feedback of timing on an easy-to-read screen. The onboard Quick Record/Quick Play feature allows drummers to immediately record and play back solo drum performances or drum parts performed with any of the internal songs.
Both the TD-9KX2 and TD-9K2 feature Roland's patented multi-layer mesh heads for the snare and toms, with rim triggering available on all pads. The new KD-9 Kick Pad includes a new cloth-designed bass drum head and provides extremely accurate triggering with a natural response and feel. The improved design and simple, solid mechanics of the KD-9 makes setup quick and easy. The new lightweight CY-13R ride (with three-way triggering) and CY-12C crash V-Cymbals® offer a more natural swinging motion and playing feel. The TD-9KX2 also now includes the VH-11 V-Hi-Hat®, which mounts on a standard acoustic hi-hat stand.
