Blackbox Recorder manufacturer JoeCo has announced the release of a major new software update (Version 2.0) that offers front-of-house and broadcast engineers even greater flexibility and speed when working with the 24-channel live audio recorder. Here's all the details that they have sent us...

The latest update includes several features designed to streamline the efficiency of live performance capture, such as the ability to create a headphone monitor mix with level and pan on every track, and a new Name Manager for easier creation of templates and modification of track and song names. Navigation is also speedier, with additional keyboard shortcuts for transport control and numerous menu options, along with the ability to access certain non-critical menu functions while in record mode.
For film, TV and other broadcast applications, Version 2.0 offers a further range of enhancements, including support for 23.98fps time code, improvements to 9-pin support for edit controllers and support for iXML.

JoeCo's Joe Bull commented: "We are constantly looking at ways to streamline the BLACKBOX RECORDER's usability in both live performance and broadcast situations and this latest software update has been specifically developed to provide more functionality both at front of house and out in the field. Feedback from our professional users has proved invaluable in taking us to this next level and we are continuing to develop features that will open up the BLACKBOX RECORDER to other user applications in the future."

Existing BLACKBOX RECORDER users can register to download the latest update free of charge from the newly updated end user section of the website. The website now also includes a visitors area that provides additional information for potential users and resellers.
