SNAMM10: New Acoustic Guitar From Epiphone

Here's what Epiphone have to say in their own words...
Epiphone has a long history of producing stunning acoustic and electric tone machines, and its alliance with Gibson--which stems back to 1957--gives these guitars the benefit of nearly two centuries worth of combined experience from two leading guitar brands. The new Epiphone Masterbilt DR-500MCE acoustic-electric was born out of this legacy, and offers an instrument that's equally endowed with full, rich acoustic tones and cutting edge acoustic-electric performance, all at a price that's easy for the hardworking musician to swallow. A Masterbilt Acoustic, for Masterly Tones
The Masterbilt DR-500MCE is built with one of the most classic tonewood combinations in the history of flat-top acoustic guitars--a solid bookmatched spruce top, solid mahogany back, mahogany sides and one-piece mahogany neck--all of which help it to produce a sweet, frequency-rich tone with excellent lows and plenty of warmth. Its SlimTaperâ„¢ "D" neck profile and deep cutaway give you the superb playability required to make the most of all this tone, while the piece de resistance, a revolutionary new eSonic2â„¢ pickup and preamp system, takes it all over the top plugged in onstage or in the studio. Developed in conjunction with Shadow in Germany, the eSonic2â„¢ includes two acoustic pickups--a slimline magnetic Shadow NanoMagâ„¢ at the end of the neck and a piezo Shadow NanoFlex pickup under the saddle--which are blended according to your own settings of the eSonic2 preamp. In addition to its other professional control features, this preamp's built-in feedback filter and tuner (which mutes the guitar output when engaged) make it a performance-ready tool for the gigging musician.
And you can bet the Masterbilt DR-500MCE looks every bit as gorgeous as it sounds. Its gloss Vintage Sunburst finish with soft feeling satin neck, multi-ply body binding and rosette, mother-of-pearl split-diamond fingerboard inlays, tortoiseshell pickguard and multi-bound Masterbilt headstock are total class all the way. Round it off with high-quality, open-gear Grover Sta-Tite tuners, a genuine bone nut, and a compensated saddle, and you've got a performance instrument that's unparalleled at this price. All Masterbilt DR-500MCE's include an owner's manual, adjustment literature, and Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty with Gibson's 24/7/365 customer support.
Body and Finish
The Masterbilt DR-500MCE is made with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, a classic acoustic tonewood combination. It is hand finished in a high-gloss Vintage Sunburst.
Neck, Fingerboard and Headstock
The guitar's neck and headstock are made much in the tradition of the many great Epiphone and Gibson acoustics, with the 24 3/4" scale length as featured on several classic flat-tops. Carved from a single piece of solid mahogany to a SlimTaperâ„¢ "D" profile, and topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard, the design incorporates a back-angled headstock (crafted to Epiphone's historic 1930s offset-notch shape), which contributes greatly to the instrument's resonance and sustain, and the wider dimensions of 1.75" at the nut, which many players prefer.
Pickups and Electronics
The Masterbilt DR-500MCE comes equipped with a revolutionary new eSonic2â„¢ pickup and preamp system, developed in conjunction with Shadow in Germany. In addition to using two different pickups to capture the guitar's full tone, the eSonic2's preamp includes a clever array of control features to help you tackle any gigging or recording situation.
Hardware
The Masterbilt DR-500MCE carries an up-market hardware set, including vintage-style nickel Grover Sta-Tite open-gear tuners, and belly-down rosewood bridge with traditional bridge pins and compensated saddle.
