Many people in the industry speak highly of Focal monitor speakers, and they've garnered a good few awards too, so as I saw the Focal booth as I was just about to leave the show to catch the plane home, I knew I just had to pop in and see what was new.

And they did indeed have a new addition to the family - the diminutive CMS 40 joins the rest of the CMS range.
Firom first impressions, it looks a very similar size to the Genelec 1029A - a monitor I've used since they first came out back in 1996
It's always difficult to tell in a noisy trade show hall, but I must say I was very impressed with the CMS 40... I look forward to trying them out some day.

The CMS range is the more 'affordable' series from Focal, but shares the technology of their other ranges - for more info, check out their website, but meanwhile, here's a very quick introduction from Pierre Maillard.
