Systems Workshop Distribution has announced that TUBE-TECH's new RM2 modular rack is shipping in the UK. Using technology from the innovative RM8 system launched earlier this year, the RM2 is a two-slot frame with integral power supply designed to support any two TUBE-TECH miniature RM Series modules. These currently include the PM1A tube microphone preamp, the EM1A tube EQ and the CM1A tube compressor. Here's all the details directly frim the press release...
The RM2 differs from other module-based systems in its ability to provide the very high voltages necessary for operating tube technology effectively. The unit offers engineers a compact, affordable and field configurable two-channel solution for achieving TUBE-TECH quality on individual tracks, mix busses, or in live sound applications.
The RM Series modules combine professional tube technology with a compact design. The PM1A microphone preamp offers 70 dB of gain and extended headroom, plus a direct instrument input for basses, guitars, keyboards and other line level sources. The unit can be optimized for condenser, ribbon or dynamic microphones using a three-position impedance selector. The EM1A passive tube equalizer module includes a low frequency boost/attenuation section with four selectable frequencies, a high frequency boost section with variable bandwidth and ten selectable frequencies, plus a high frequency attenuation section with three selectable frequencies. The CM1A optical tube compressor is a new version of TUBE-TECH's classic CL1B. Designed largely for single track recordings, it features improved response to quick transients and a general optimization of compression behaviour. For stereo or multi-channel applications, a pair of CM1As can be linked together from two different, available busses.
Modules can be interchanged in the rack as required and the RM2 can also be made to function in mono as a channel strip with microphone preamp and compressor, or microphone preamp and equalizer.
Pricing and Availability:
The RM2 will retail at £ 947.60 (inc VAT).
The RM Series modules - PM1A, EM1A and CM1A - retail at £ 1,488.10 each (inc VAT) More information:
