Now I'm not one to get excited about products for things with strings, but I couldnt' help but have my head turned by the new Night Train all valve mini head from Vox. Now you know that Korg have made some great products using the process of miniaturization - and they do indeed distribute the Vox stuff so I wonder if there's been something rubbing off there.. Anyhow, the Night Train is a 15 watt all valve head, with Pentode and Triode modes for delivering 7 or a full 15 watts of valve output. There's a gain and output and EQ to get you the most from the creamy valve sound, which in the flesh does sound very pleasing. "The Tone controls include Treble, Middle and Bass, allowing you to dial up just the right character for your individual, signature tone. In addition, the preamp section features a mode switch, offering both BRIGHT and THICK options. The BRIGHT mode accentuates the high-frequency components for a clear, ringing tone; the THICK setting bypasses the tone circuit to boost the gain and create a chunkier, heavier sound."
