SONIC TALK 100!
Good lord, I thought we'd never make, what with technical difficulties and the evacuation of the office due to a town center fire scare, but it all came together. As I write this, I'm nursing a rather sore head from yesterdays celebrations, it was really good fun and added an exciting new dimension to the show having a live feed. A big thanks to all the people who showed up for the recording and also of course to my guests: Dave Spiers from GForce Software, who came down to be in person - it was him an me in the video feed for those who saw. Rich Hilton fresh back from Rotterdam where he was gigging with Chic, Noneric our man in Berlin where he runs the excellent Musotalk.de, PJ Tracy - studio owner and composer/player from MInneapolis, and of course, Mark Tinley sound artist extraordinare.
Its a bit free-form this week, but the loose framework around which we hang this celebratory episode is as follows:
First up, we discuss just how bad does it have to get before you stop, the E-FiX dongle that turns your PC into a Mac, the divergence of gaming and music creation and the best bargain you ever got. Then it descends into KAOSS as we attempt a live transatlantic jam using Kaossilators kindly donated by Korg - shout out to Leslie and Gwen.
Once again, I'd like to thank our participants, both past and present for their contribution to this show and of course, the listeners who make it worth doing, plus a big shout out to the chat-room possie for joining in yesterday. We can't forget our show sponsors Yamaha Music Production UK for their continuing support - thanks Pete!
Remember folks - drink responsibly.
