Digidesign Releases Transfuser Virtual Instrument

Digidesign has announced the immediate availability of its eagerly-anticipated Transfuser virtual instrument for Pro Tools. Making it easier than ever to begin making music in Pro Tools, Transfuser comes packed with nearly 2 GB of loops and phrases to get users started quickly. By combining a series of modular drum machine/sound generators, dedicated sequencers, loop manipulation tools, and effects with an intuitive drag-and-drop composition/editing interface, Digidesign say that users can easily create, manipulate and perform loop- and rhythm-based music on the fly with Transfuser.
Dusty DiMercurio, Digidesign’s personal studio products marketing manager told us, “Transfuser is an incredibly fun and creative way to quickly make and manipulate music right in Pro Tools. Many people today rely on audio loops and phrases to create music. Transfuser offers user-friendly tools and a simple workflow that enables anyone to easily remix grooves and create original music from these building blocks—as quickly as their creativity flows.
Remixing Pro Tools: The Crystal Method Contest (US and Canada only)*
Marking the release of Transfuser, Digidesign has teamed with noted electronic music pioneers The Crystal Method, artist community Fuzz.com, and Remix magazine to offer Pro Tools users, remixers, DJs, musicians and music fans an opportunity to take part in a remixing contest to create their own original version of a brand new track from The Crystal Method’s upcoming studio album due in stores this fall.
By visiting, www.fuzz.com/remixingprotools participants can download The Crystal Method song session, create their own remix, and then upload an MP3 of their work by September 30, 2008. The Fuzz.com user community (a free membership) will vote for their favorite remixes, with The Crystal Method, Digidesign, Remix, and Fuzz.com staff reviewing the top voted remixes and selecting one winner and one runner-up to each receive a personal studio prize package.
Since downloading the preview last month, The Crystal Method’s Ken Jordan has become a huge fan of Digidesign’s newest virtual instrument. “We are so excited to be a part of this remix contest. This will be the first time anyone has heard anything from our new album and now you have the opportunity to remix it. We've been using Transfuser ourselves at Crystalwerks and can't wait to hear how others use it to get creative with this track. Transfuser works so well on Pro Tools that we know everyone will have lots of fun creating their own remixes.
Dusty DiMercurio had this to say,“This competition is a great way to kick off the official release of Transfuser. Thanks in part to the 3-month free preview of Transfuser we’ve been able to offer Pro Tools users, there’s already a tremendous level of excitement and anticipation for the product. We’re happy to further empower this community with the release of the full version, and I’m personally really excited to hear what our users come up with now that they have access to the expanded sound library included with the full release.
