This was something we weren’t expecting to see at the show, and it’s a hand-held, two channel audio player which you can beat-match, mix, filter and EQ as DJs do – all in the palm of your hand. The brainchild of a consortium of top Swedish DJs, tech heads and money bags, the Tonium Pacemaker is a stylish little beast, and comes equipped with a 120GB internal drive, a monitor (headphone) output, plus a main output so you can cue up your tracks without interrupting the show. Considering it’s size, it’s amazing what this thing is capable of. It plays all manner of audio formats, apart from apples DRM AAC – this is an Open Source type of thing. You can pre-order yours now (approx 529 Euros). I want one and I don’t even know how to DJ, but it is very, very cool.
