Modartt have announced the release of an update to their modelled piano.
Pianoteq version 2.1 now includes a new preset, C2 concert, bringing an improvement of the piano model at fortissimo and increased dynamics. They say that there is now a more biting edge in stronger passages. Sympathetic resonance and harp resonance with partial pedalling are also improved. A genuine RTAS version (Mac and PC) is now available.
The company has also launched a competition whereby you have a chance to win a Pianoteq license by composing something performed on Pianoteq. This can be on a trial version of Pianoteq – you don’t have to buy it beforehand which would miss the point of the competition somewhat…
The rules:
- anyone can participate
- one entry per contestant
- instrumental music only (solo, ensemble, orchestral)
- any kind of music genre
- performed on Pianoteq 2.1 (trial or full version)
- no other instruments than Pianoteq is allowed in the recording
You can upload your entry (MP3 and/or MIDI file) anytime up to August 31. Voting starts on September 1. The winner will be announced on September 16.
Pricing and Availability:
Pianoteq costs 249 Euros
