Brian Rothschild, Executive Director of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, has announced the addition of Godin Guitars, manufactured in Canada and the United States, to its prestigious list of sponsors. The company joins principal sponsors Maxell Corporation, Apple Computer and NAMM, and others that support the valuable mission of the Bus to bring music playing and songwriting to students across the country.
Brian Rothschild told us, “We are very happy to be working with the Godin family and proud to have their beautiful instruments available for the students who record on the Bus at our stops at schools across the country. I am sure that the young people will be further inspired to play music and write songs using the finely crafted guitars. We had the privilege of meeting them at the recent NAMM Winter Conference and were thrilled to quickly realize that we shared the same vision.
Robert Godin, President & founder of Godin Guitars had this to say, “To be onboard as the exclusive guitar sponsor of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and to be working with such a fantastic organization who share the same ideals and philosophies as we do, means a great deal to us. We strongly believe in music education and have always been active in encouraging young people to both play and create music. Being a part of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a perfect avenue for us to reach those young musicians in a new and exciting way,
The guitars that will be featured on the Bus include select Godin electric and semiacoustic models, along with guitars featuring 13-pin technology. Godin Guitars’ Seagull line of acoustic guitars will also be featured on the Bus. As the official exclusive guitar sponsor of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Godin is providing each of the 24 Grand Prize winners with their very own Godin guitar. Godin will also provide prizes for radio and Internet promotions in conjunction with Warped Tour and other tours that the Bus accompanies, as well as for the Bus’ national High School Battle of the Bands, and the Lennon Bus and Godin will create joint promotions with retailers in many of the markets visited.
