The Artvista Virtual Grand piano, isnt a new thing, but it doeas warrant a little extra attention. The core samples are taken from a lovingly cared for Steinway Model B housed in a little church somewhere in Sweden and sampled by Hans Anderson – Artvista’s main man. He’s a conservatory trained pianist with a passion for The Right Sound, in fact, his attention to detail meant he had to construct a mechanical device for ensuring constant velocity when sampling the piano for the library. What makes the Virtual Grand Piano stand out from others is that it’s presets are arranged by the sounds used by legendary pianista and used on classic recordings. The main aim of the collection is to represent the whole recording process that went into making some of the classic piano sounds through the last century – 22 in fact. Also available are the Cool Vibes Collection – you guessed it – a Vibraphone sample instrument for GigaSampler and MalmsoAccoustic Grand, also for GigSampler.
