A few weeks ago we reported on an online petition regarding Yamaha’s mLAN and its development (or lack of it) for the Mac platform. The guys who run the petition have now been in touch to tell us that the petition now has 266 signatures and that Yamaha have recently acknowledged the existence of the petition and their intention to take its content seriously. Here’s a response from a Yamaha spokesman posted recently on the 01xray.com forum … ‘Yamaha will be making an official announcement in about a week and before NAMM regarding mLAN and OS X. Yamaha takes these issues and the petition that has been circulated seriously.
Yamaha will respond as soon as possible, but there are a number of issues with a number of different parties that need to be sorted out first. Unfortunately most of these parties involved also have corporate lawyers.
We will not ask you to be patient as you have all been patient enough, but we are working on this as fast as we can.’ So, it sounds like progress is being made and Sonicstate will bring you any official Yamaha statement as soon as we hear of it.
