NAMM06: Tascam Reveal CD Player For DJs

US Compact tabletop CD-DJ1 is world’s smallest pro CD/MP3 player      28/01/06

TASCAM tell us that their new CD-DJ1 is the world's smallest pro CD/MP3 player but that it's big on the kind of features that will make it the must-have product for DJs everywhere.
Including such necessities as seamless loop, hot starts, key original (master tempo) and more, the CD-DJ1 is half the size of a turntable (you can fit two in your turntable case), and incorporates the ability to speed up or slow down a song without changing the key. It also supports CD Text and ID3 tags for MP3s, so DJs can use MP3-encoded CDs and see their titles and other text on the CD-DJ1's LCD screen.
Another big feature of the CD-DJ1 is its compatibility with TASCAM's acclaimed TT-M1 scratch controller, which lets you scratch CDs just like vinyl (with no need for specially-encoded vinyl or a computer). Tascam say that the sleek CD-DJ1 can be added to the DJ's existing system, providing an extra CD player (or in place of an ageing turntable or CD deck) with more usable features than anything else on the market.
