A quick scan of the East West pages on the QL Symphonic Orchestra and you’ll know how well regarded this collection is. Heaped with praise from all the major magazines and power users alike, the Symphonic Collection has been updated with a massive new injection of sounds and programs. In fact the upgrade is larger than the original library itself! The Symphonic Orchestra Professional XP is available in three versions: Gold, Silver and Platinum, you’ll get a full range of instruments from the symphonic orchestra with many additions to the Brass, Strings, Woodwind and percussion sections. The Platinum edition gives you full surround (5.1) with selection and balance of the mics at your fingertips. All instruments are recorded in their natural orchestral positions so you can enhance any section with solo parts without having to adjust the panning. The playback engine is currently Kontakt based – stand-alone and plug-in but Quantum Leap also told us that they have a new, custom playback engine in development that gives twice the polyphony and streaming performance of anything currently out there. The video we shot with developer Nick Phoenix gives a great insight into what the collection has to offer, we thoroughly recommend a viewing.
