Wouldn’t you know it? I’ve just finished setting up my recently purchased 15inch G4 based Powerbook, thinking that they will be the last models to get the new Intel chips, and Apple go and announce that they will be the first. After Apple announced this Summer that all their models will be moving over to the Intel chips – a move which is pretty bold, sources claim that the new Powerbooks although based on the current design, will be considerably thinner. The first will be the 15 inch, closely followed by the 17 inch. Apparently, OS X is now at a point where it is ready to rock on the Intel platform, with Apple just waiting for the right time – that and waiting for the poor developers to get their code ready for the switch...
