Samsung are to launch their own download service to tie in with their own digital music devices. Up against Apples iPod range, Samsung are looking for ways to make their competition more er, competitive. Apples dominance is a hard obstacle to get around, but Samsung’s Choi Ji-Sung, head of digital media division was up-beat when he said that the service will be launched first in Korea and then out to the rest of the world. Choi said "Considering that Samsung's market share is bigger than Apple's in Asian countries and that the iTunes service is not offered in the region, except in Japan, we definitely have a competitive edge there." The service is likely to Windows Media based making the direct competition Napster, HMV, Yahoo Music! and Virgin Digital.
