We’ve had a lot of requests for this one – the refreshingly honest and down to earth Dave Spiers ImpOscar demo from last year was a great antidote to the informative but often somewhat corporate presentations of many of his music biz colleagues. So legendary it was, that a commemorative T-Shirt was made using a particularly fruity quote from Dave. I believe these can be purchased from gmediamusic.com if one so desires. This years offering is the Minimonsta – lovingly modeled on the Moog Mini, this one has a difference (aside from being heartily endorsed by Rick Wakeman, a long time user of the hardware Minimoog), primarily, the complex and expressive routing and control options. The main element of this being the Melohman keyboard. What this entails is an assignable octave on your MIDI keyboard that can be used to dynamically morph between metapatches (variations of the original patch) by hitting a key in the control octave. Any or all parameters can be assigned to change aside from the waveform and one or two others. This means that you can radically alter the sound of the instrument through playing the keys alone. You really need to experience this to get it , so without further ado – I give you Mr Dave Spiers (and friend). - Ahem, now you need to watch the video... (Rick is rather rude) Gmedia products (M-Tron, Oddity, ImpOscar and MiniMonsta) are now distributed by M-Audio
