In the early days of the Beatles George Harrison was closely associated with Gretsch guitars and could be seen playing the Duo Jet, Tennessean and Country Gentleman models at various points. Gretsch have responded to enormous consumer demand for Beatles guitars and have introduced new versions of two of these - the G6128TSP Duo Jet Special, a faithful reproduction of a 1957 Duo Jet guitar as used by Harrison during his Hamburg days and Cavern era. and the G6122SP Country Classic Special guitar, a faithful reproduction of the 1963 Gretsch model, made famous by the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show The G6128TSP Duo Jet Special is a solid body, single cutaway guitar with tone chambers featuring an arched laminated maple top and mahogany back and sides. The one piece mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard and aged hump block inlays, a unique feature that was only used on this guitar in 1957.There are two DynaSonic single coil pickups, with a 3-position toggle switch, a volume control for each pickup, master volume control and master tone control. The hardware includes a Rocking Bar Bridge on ebony base, Bigsby B3C Vibrato tailpiece and Grover V98C Sta-Tite machine heads. It is available in Mahogany Stain with Jet Black Top at the US MSRP of $3,125.00. The new G6122SP is a hollow body, Electrotone style double cutaway guitar with dual simulated F holes. It features an arched laminated maple top with laminated maple back and sides, a three piece maple neck and ebony fingerboard with Neo-Classical Thumbnail inlays. The guitar offers two TV Jones Classic Pickups with a 3-position pickup selector toggle switch, a 3-position master tone toggle switch, Standby switch, two volume controls for the neck and bridge pickups and a master volume control.Hardware includes a Rocking Bar Bridge on an ebony base, a Bigsby B6G vibrato tailpiece and Grover 150G Imperial machine heads. Additional features include a dual mute system, snap-on back pad, multiple body bindings, gold plexi pickguard and adjustable truss rod. It is available in Walnut Stain at a US MSRP of $3,875.00.
