While there have been many versions of the Ibanez Tube Screamer, the original TS808 as used by Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Johnson has been missing in action since the early 1980's. So much so that original vintage models sell for megabucks and there is a healthy industry in mods to convert later versions to 808 specs. Anyone looking for that 'Holy Grail of Tube Screamers' however can now get one brand new as Ibanez has reissued the little green stompbox in its original form with the distinctive square footswitch and with all the same circuitry and components including the JRC 4558 chip, a vital component for that vintage overdriven sound.
