In a fit of generous innovation, Novation have announced that their ReMote Audio, the MIDI controller and USB audio interface can be turned into a K Station, all with a simple free firmware download. That’s right, from mid December, you'll be able to turn the ReMote Audio into a hardware synth in it’s own right, with the added advantage of being USB or battery powered. The best news of all is that it is FREE! With this additional and very powerful feature, Novation have decided upon a slight name change and are calling this unit the ReMote Audio Extreme. Not only can you turn the ReMote Audio into a hardware synth (whilst retaining it’s original MIDI and audio capabilities of course, ) but they are packaging Novation Live (by Ableton), Cubase SE and Novation V Station with this product. Again, there is no additional charge. This makes the ReMote Audio Extreme superb value for money and will be a big incentive to the end user. (Novation will supply any existing users with the software bundle directly free of charge. The customer just needs to supply us with proof of purchase.) An additional package will be available from early December called the Producer Pack. This will consist of the ReMote Audio Extreme package listed above with a pair of high quality headphones and a condenser mic, for a retail price of £699.00 inc. VAT. This will come in an attractive box and is designed to be a one-stop solution for the recordist. Just add a computer. Also news just in, Novation have announced the Speedio, a new high spec combined USB audio and MIDI interface. This features two high precision high bandwidth audio pre-amps with phantom power. It is USB powered, so there is no need for an external PSU. The retail price of £199.00 includes 3 software applications, Novation Live (by Ableton), Cubasis and Novation BST. For more info:
