One of our first ports of call was the Elektron stand where we were hoping to get our hands on the new MonoMachine. Alas, the silver machine was behind the glass and for today remaining mute, as was Daniel Hansson (pictured) with his lips tightly sealed on what we can expect in the final production unit. Still we did manage to bring some clandestine shots of the six voice DSP driven synth.

It looks like Elektron are expanding the concept of their highly regarded MachineDrum drumn synthesizer (see our review). The SFX-6 has a dual DSP system, 6 tracks of synthesis and sequencing with up to 24 voices. There's also 18 LFOs, 6 delay engines and 24 dedicated track effects. The concept of synthesis machines is followed with work still in progress on the machines. We do know that one is called the voice machine and will be focusing unsurprisingly on voice synthesis. We hope to grab an audio demo by special appointment before we leave the show so stay tuned. The unit is expected to be ready in Q3 of 2003. Pricing is unconfirmed but rumoured to be somewhere between 1500 and 2000 euro/$ More info:
