Mackie announced the UAD-8 I/O at the NAMM show. The UAD-8 I/O features all the same plugins as the UAD-1, but adds eight channels of digital I/O. Version 3.0 of the UAD-1 software was also announced. Mackie also announced their Mackie Control C4 extender for the Mackie Controlâ„¢. The new Control C4 is different than the current Mackie Control Extenderâ„¢ in that it is designed specifically to gives hands on control of software effect plugins and virtual instruments. It features four backlit LED strips with eight V-knobs below each strip. It also has four shortcut buttons. Little information was available about the C4 and the UAD-8 I/O at the NAMM show, so keep your eyes peeled for further developments in the coming months. Albert
