On the Korg stand, as well as the new microKorg synth (see article) we were treated to an expert demo of the new KP2 by Korg whiz James Bernard. The KP2 builds on the original Kaoss Pad but adds welcome new features and functions. Personally, I couldn’t keep my hands of the unit and kept returning to the for more. Features:
  • Original patches from the KP1 included
  • Tap Tempo and BPM FX via MIDI
  • MIDI in and out gives external control
  • Electribe algorithms featured in drum and synth sounds
  • Pad motion recording and playback (3.2secs)
  • Dual sample pads (6 secs each) – KP2 can also effect samples
  • FX depth control The KP2 is shipping directly priced at $349 list
