Fat Elvis writes:
At the time of writing this rackmount effects unit has been around for about 5 years but is still available and going strong at a very competitive price for something that sounds so classy.

128 factory presets plus another 128 user memories means you are not going to run out of effects to use in a hurry. None of the latest trendy sounds like ring modulation here, but the Midiverb 4 combines all the traditional effects (reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, pitchshift, rotary and autopan) in a large variety of well thought out variations.

You can have single effects including some realistic reverb spaces, 2 or 3 effects together in series, 2 effects in parallel with a common output or two completely separate mono effects for use on two different sound sources.

Good Points
Large display and very easy editing interface with loads of editable parameters available.Sounds great - clean and detailed effects, and the reverbs sound like real spaces.
Bad Points
Auto adjustment of input levels is a naff idea as are the cursor buttons should you choose to do it manually. Alesis, if you are reading this and ever get round to making a Midiverb 5, please put real knobs on it. Only 2 fixed parameters per program accessible via MIDI.
