24:4:2 live mixer with built-in dual 24bit FX. Two pre/post aux sends, two FX sends per channel.

Good Points
Cheap. Good line mixer if you dismiss the horrid EQ and useless FX.
Bad Points
I do sound engineering for live bands and this is a very poor board. The only good EQ on this board is the low cut switch. When I boost the 12Khz high EQ I hear harmonics in the 900-1500hz region also being boosted. The sweepable mid has the same problem. That is one sloppy EQ, it means if I try to eliminate some honkiness in a vocal by using cut mode in the EQ, then I have to sacrifice desired harmonics. If you boost across the board, those stray harmonics add up to one spectral mess. I compared the SL to an A&H Mixwizard 16:2 board. The EQ on the A&H is much more precise and musical, and the preamps are clearer sounding. The FX are a joke. Muddy reverbs and you cannot tweak any parameters on any FX. OK, 10 delay presets but no parameter twaeks means you're stuck with the fixed delay times they give you. And no doubling/haas delays either, none of the presets have short enough delay times. Ambience and gated reverb are the only useful FX, and that's not saying much. By the time you dismiss the muddy reverbs and delays, you're left with phaser, chorus, flanger, compression, etc. OK, what good is a preset compressor if you can't adjust threshold, output level, compression ratio?!? By the time you dismiss the EQ and FX, you're left with a line mixer. A Peavey rackmount line mixer will do the same job with a lot less space. Behringer are cheap for a REASON. Buy Soundcraft or A&H instead of this piece of junk. Yes they are three times the money of a Behringer but you get what you pay for.
