The DPS16 is definetly a unit to check out when money and space is at a premium- and get one with the optional fx board for true portability. Keep those software upgrades coming AKAI!!!!

Good Points
Alot of power for the money. Easy to use. Nice interface. Great recording quality. Able to master and back up to compatible CD recorder. 250 virtual tracks.
Bad Points
Effects board a bit 'tame' on certain specialised fx like mastering, guitar and vocal fx. No dedicated libraries for eq and fx settings. No multi-channel digital interface (ADAT or TDIF). Unable to easily mixdown 16 recorded tracks down to 2 tracks inside the DPS16.
