Best Drum machine(hardware or software) ever created. If I could design a music creation tool- I would design this... The only thing I look forward to seeing is maybe the ability to use Cubase softsynths.....

Where do I begin? This program is the best $160 (Australian) I've ever spent on any musical item, software or hardware, electronic or accoustic.

I got it about December 99 when it was release 1.7.6, and thought it was brilliant then. As well as the drum machine side of it its got a really nifty 303 clone 2 osc bass line synth called the TS 404 (original name, hey?). I can get around 5 of these running on my lowly P233 at one time, as well as a bunch of WAV channels. And it is really intuitive to use.

But wait, there's more! Version 2.1.1 came out with real time recording of practically every parameter. And the it now has midi sync and control too! (Fairly basic as yet, but at the rate these guys bring out updates that's gonna change). And VST 1.0 and DX plugin support. And latency down around 5ms with a SB Live card! And heaps more.

Next update is supposed to include a full piano roll editor and polyphonic midi recording ...

And to cap it all there's a brilliant support site, with technical and musical support forums and lots of samples and ... look, just go download this thing right now. Pay the man and enjoy!!

Fruity Loops is nice - I love software drummachines that can also double as a full-time sequencer. Fruity Loops tackles sequencing much like D-Lusion's DT-010 DrumStation (one of my fav programs) but allows many more tracks and compostional arrangements. Possibilities are endless with 64 tracks... sometimes it annoys me because of the near-tracker interface (the song grid, arranges much like you would on a tracker) so it's not as "live" as the DT-010 but still MUCH better than any tracker I've ever seen.
