At it's current discount price of $ 1000.00 US a strong contender for a home studio. Ease of use, variety of the IO options and helpful tips in the short manual work for me. There are other units now available from different brands, but I real pleased with my noise level since I purchased this unit.

A veritable 'magic box' that is ideally suited to the high-octane levels of dance music and the like. If you want your mixes to sound dense, punchy, upfront and with a level to match commercial releases, then look no further.

The 3-band compressor/limiter is highly effective, enabling you to wring the maximum level out of your track. It also scores highly on the ease-of-use front - the Finalize Matrix is a masterstroke, has all the settings you will need and puts them within easy reach. The Spectral Balance is like a 3-band EQ, but these knobs raise and lower the levels of the 3 compressed bands before limiting. The soft-clippers do a great job in holding the level at 0dB, the look-ahead delay is very effective in this regard also. The degree of interfacing round the back is staggerring, with digital I/O on coax, XLR and optical in S/PDIF, AES/EBU and Toslink formats.

This may not appeal to the pros who have the cash (and patience) for a fully-fledged Finalizer, but for those of us with home studios and a yearning for a big sound, this is a dream come true.

Overpriced 3-band compressor with harsh soft clippers and little of the control or functionality of the REAL finalizer, you just have 25 settings plus some spectral balance. sold it and bought an end of line Finalizer+. no comparison.
