As the guy above mentioned, this unit does posses a laggy program switch, however what it lacks in latency, it makes up for its awesome sound... I do not use it on guitar's, instaid I use it as a pre aux send for gritty stereo drum/sample/keyboard distortion effects. I also automate some parimaters via MIDI in tandom with the groove I put in it.. |
If you feel like your (Midi Sample or Kit) drums are lacking the pressance and warmth you want in your mix try this... Get some drum grooves going, and switch it to Tube Amp mode with only moderate gain, no bac or 2x12 cab or so will suffice... mix Dry/Wet to taste... RECORD into your sampler or computer sequencer... bam, you got yourself some Punchy Drums that make your mix sound well... fatter
On Electribe ER sine/tri kicks, tube mode/record makes quite a remarkable kick... It adds Breath to the attack, and umpth to the decay, without actuly increasing signal level...
I also Like the Compressor effect, does wonders on analog basslines...
for its price, you probably cant help but skip the Line 6 POD rack for this one.

Why isn't this unit covered more here? This is an effect unit that is much cheaper than the POD and still holds it's own next to it. I personally think it beats the POD as a matter of fact (maybe not the POD XT) and it's half the price! |
A few drawbacks: - Switching effects is astonishingly slow (almost a second). Unusable in live situations. Behringer should learn from this for the next version! - No on/off switch. Not even a mute switch. Not EVEN a bypass switch! Raah!
2 points off for these comments. The remaining 8 are well deserved and rightly so.
