For the price of high end VST plugin - you get a solid piece of Hardware that oozes "classic" - despite the poor boy heritage!!

I use it on all my digital synths, electric guitars and acoustic guitars - really takes out the brittleness (at least to my ears?)and adds a nice sheen to mix... and yes I have tried UAD, Waves etc. yet still this EQ has it's firm place.

It really does sound good... very musical. For those of you who are wondering, the tubes ARE in sockets. Let's roll...

I have one of these in my home studio and love it, it really does wonders for some stuff, it doesn't do as dramatic surgery as some Parametrics do but in my opinion it is a 10 out of 10 for the price... even for units costing several times as much.. it's not a Neve but it's not a toy. you need a warm P.EQ for a good price this is great.

This unit has a very interesting sound - probably because of the way the tubes work. (Do some research and you'll find they work in no conventional way). It can add a twist of brightness to parts or mixes with the cheesy little 'warmth' knob it has. The Ultra Q does way more desirable 'colouring' than most things you can buy in a music store. Bad points? Most pro recording engineers will think you are not cool for using Behringer gear! It's really pretty cool actually. Add a half to my 8 rating.
