This is a very cool digital recorder. I like the fact that it has an analogue mixer instead of the new "menu driven" digital types. You can upgrade the OS to Version 2.00 giving mo betta features than the original DMT-8vl. That new chip is only $20 from Fostex. Also I love the fact that you can also upgrade the hardrive all the way up to 8.4 Gigs maximum. Thats fantastic!! Actually, I am putting in a Quantam Fireball LCT 10 that is like 10.2 Gigs, but the OS will only go up to 8.4 Gigs. But hey, thats cool with me. With 8.4 Gigs, thats about 3.3 hours of 8-Track Audio. Perfect. The only thing I wish that it had was the mid EQs on each track. It has high and low, but no mid. I can work around that though. This recorder is a really fantastic value and sounds great. AND its easy to use!! You cannot go wrong with this baby. Very nice machine!!
