This is connection to my previous review. I found out that this interface does crash even with the settings I have previously mentioned. I since opened up a record label called Fantasia Recordings and I needed to find a solution so I can actually work on music without all my synths going crazy because of midi notes getting stuck and reseted. The solution under windows XP was to install the AMT8 interface via the serial cable connection instead of the USB. I can say for sure now that all the craziness and instability that I have experinced while connected via USB went away for good. It's all working rock solid now and haven't had a single problem.

Rock Solid under XP sp3..... if yours crashes just go into the device manager and go under the driver profile and swith to the second option and that will solve the problem when synths go crazy by themselfs.....

8 years after it's introduction, it's still hard to beat one of these, especially if you're using logic. works just as well with logic 8 on a new intel mac running leopard as it did with 4.5 on win2000 or OS9, probably the best piece of kit I ever bought, still working flawlessly after 6 years of daily use!

I took it out of the box and loaded the drivers with no problem. The Emagic AMT8 midi interface is the best midi interface I every had and it is not their top of the line model. That Midiman 4x4/s that I had was nothing but junk! I took it back to G.C. to buy the AMT8 and wow! All that you have to do is just buy it: end of story.

By far the best 8x8 midi interface. Always in sync, never any communication issues, even with older gear. For the price you can't pass it up.
